Hero Day always reminds the people of Indonesia, particularly Surabaya, to constantly have the spirit of nationalism. Therefore, the day has always been celebrated in the merriest way. As the previoius years, some cultural events are hosted starting from November 1st to November 10th. Among them are a music concert, Performance Art "100 Statues of Heroes", theatre festival, Surabaya Jeep Carnival, and also Short Fil Festival. The celebration will be closed by Kolaborasi Ludruk Juang (a collaboration ludruk performance by some ludruk artists

Symphony for the Nation

November the 10th is the day that leaves a deep impression and history amongst the people of Surabaya which still echoes to the present day. To commemorate the never-ending struggle of arek-arek Suroboyo in standing up for the country's independence, a grand music show featuring young Indonesian musicians is held. There you can feel the energy of arek Suroboyo fill the air.

Ciputra Golf seems to know how to pamper all golfers in Surabaya. An amateur golf tournament is held to celebrate their anniversary. It is an occasion where not only local golfers will join, but also international golfers wil race to score.

Festival of Semanggi Surabaya

Semanggi, one of Surabaya's traditional dishes that consists of semanggi leaves and bean sprout topped with spicy sauce on top, is brought up to the people of Surabaya in Festival of Semanggi Surabaya. It's a competition where semanggi makers and lovers all over the city are challenged to serve their best semanggi.

Suramadu International Run

This international scale marathon race, which is hosted by the Provincial Government of East Java will be participated by hundreds or even thousand of both national and international running athletes. They are challenged to a 10 km run crossing Suramadu bridge from Surabaya to Madura and back from Madura to reach the finish line in Surabaya.
